Built in 1925 by Michael Feros, this grand hotel is heritage listed and is still owned by the Feros family. It is a classic example of Australian hotel architecture of th 1920's. Situated along the magnificent Waterfall Way, voted among the top ten drives within Australia, Dorrigo stands as the gateway to some of the most impressive and accessible World Heritage National Parks in the country. Heritage Hotel Motel Dorrigo has a variety of accommodation styles and room configurations to suit all travelers and budgets. Home made country meals are a feature of the Hotel's Family Bistro. Local "honey smoked trout" being a speciality. The Family Bistro is open 7 days a week. Dorrigo boasts a number of cafes, arts and craft shops where that unique gift can be found. Dorrigo is the gateway to the amazing Dorrigo National Park with its "Sky Walk" and Walk with the Birds" board walk. In summer months swim at Dangar Falls or experience the delight of standing under the Crystal Falls. Situated approximately 35kms from the coast, Dorrigo is close to the valley town of Bellingen and the coastal settlement of Urunga. Directions: Getting There Getting to Heritage Hotel Motel Dorrigo is easy. Dorrigo is accessed by road. Dorrigo is 580kms north of Sydney and 490kms south of Brisbane. The nearest railway station is at Urunga, 35kms east. Dorrigo is only 60 minutes drive from Coffs Harbour.Coming from the North Travel 25kms south of Coffs Harbour. Exit the Pacific Highway 3kms north of Urunga (the highway exit passes under a large overpass). Travel straight through Bellingen, pass the War Memorial on the left,pass the Lodge Cafe on the right. Leave the township. You will pass the Thora store on the right at 15kms. Proceed up 13kms of spectacular winding mountain road. When you arrive in Dorrigo, locate the War Memorial in the centre of town. The hotel is directly south west of the east-facing Soldier. Coming from the West From Armidale, travel north on the Waterfall Way through Ebor and continue north. Turn east before Hernani. Stay on this road until you arrive in Dorrigo. Latest News
The hotel has been recently renovated and retains its heritage charm. In keeping with the heritage theme, the colour scheme of burgandy and cream runs through the hotel. The stained timber ceilings have been restored along with the original 1925 furniture that is in excellent condition. The hotel accommodation has been upgraded from hotel rooms to ensuite rooms to accommodate the modern traveller. Motel rooms have beds ranging from king size, queen, double, singles and bunks.
