Kombu Wholefoods is a large, friendly and affordable healthfood store. The shop is located in a stunning new complex
being developed by owner and potter John Robertson. Previously the Raymond's
car repair garage, the transformation is startling with the oil and cement replaced
with carved wood, art work and numerous pots!
Owners Kevin and Lowanna Doye arrived
in Bellingen after two years in Sydney. Before that they spent 18 months travelling
by bicycle from Oxford, UK to Sydney, Australia, in the process winning an award
for outstanding achievement from the Australian Geographic Society.
We aim to bring you the finest quality
bulk wholefoods, to delight your taste buds and nourish your body. Where possible
we will source minimally packaged regional produce because it is fresher, more
affordable, supports the local economy and is more sustainable for the environment.
We will strive to provide organic
produce, as we believe eating food free from chemicals and hormones is more
beneficial to you, and more sustainable for the earth. We will endeavour to
ensure that there is no genetically modified food on our shelves.
A significant proportion of our annual
profits will be donated to environmental, social and community projects in our
region.
